Seriously? Is that the name? Actually, naming it was much easier than trying to attach its pieces and parts. There are no ready made fasteners to connect pieces that were never intended to even be in the same room together. Which is why these “reconstructions” I sometimes call them, take so long to create. At the end of a week, I can only explain that to get a post office box door attached to a lamp harp I had to cheat and steal and invoke the gods of art to lead me to a solution.

And why these pieces and what does it mean? It means that once in a while I’ll wander off and begin to think about what it all means – “life, the universe and everything”, to quote author Douglas Adams. And so, there I was thinking about where we’re all going and who gets to go there, that is, to the happy place. First, I reasoned, the ones that believe there is a place to go and live a life that makes them deserving, get to go there. They’ve been nice to others, loved and been loved. So their efforts are rewarded and they are safe from elimination. They were given the grace of God to believe, did good and now they are locked in. The little light bulb just above the heart, that indicated they once had body and soul together, is now burned out, but the love they shared lives on here, and there.
