It’s a “Night of a 100 Angels” in Laguna Beach, California. My pair of angles was selected for the “Angels” show at Whelan Galeries. “Together Again” was inspired by my folks who are together again in a better place. In heaven, will we dance and sing like little kids? In the middle of the night, do you think we will be able to whisper our love to the living? How do you envision heaven? What are angels?
“Together Again” is a pair of angles roughly 18 inches high. The angels on top of the monumental forms are actually less than 3 inches of the total height. Why? It just kind of happened that way, but the proportions begin to suggest the way I think of my unassuming, simple, loving and caring parents, who made a huge impact on my life and the lives of many others. They were the salt of the earth. I’ve constructed these guys with the stuff of life: springs, watch gears, candleholder parts, an electronics switch, drawer pull, key and spoon… Love you mom and dad.
