Hi all!
This is my first post and I hope it will be alright if the first thing I do is gloat a little bit. I’ve had a artwork accepted in a public art program. Yahoo!
In a few short weeks, my sculpture “Mr. Toolman” will be installed at the Pikes Peak Center in Colorado Springs, CO for a year. He was inspired by a antique hand tool of unknown purpose or origin. Perhaps someone knows what tool from which he came? It simply made me think of a distinguished gentleman out for a walk. So I created him of 22 cans of spray foam insulation, 16 cans of Bondo fiberglass, paint, clear coats and lots of love. Mr Toolman is 8′ tall now and he is alive!
Even though he may be bolted to a sidewalk for a time for his own good, he is a free man and may one day loosen his bonds and walk among us. You need not fear him. He is harmless and simply likes to walk. I know this because I gave him a good brain. At least I think I did. He will smile and wish you peace and walk on. Know that he is your friend and out for a stroll. Next, more on his miraculous birth, photos, his first words…
